About Reference List Checker
Paste a reference list from an essay or thesis. Kitbly checks every DOI against Crossref, flags references whose DOI belongs to a different title or year (a common sign of made-up AI citations), and points out missing years, links and duplicates.
Frequently asked questions
Can it spot fake AI references?
It verifies every DOI. A DOI that doesn't exist or belongs to a different paper is a strong warning sign. References without a DOI can't be verified automatically.
Is it free?
Yes, unlimited.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It works in any modern browser on iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac.
