About AI Writing Indicator
Paste a student's text (50–5,000 words) to get an estimate of how likely it was written by an AI tool, with the sentences that look most machine-like highlighted. AI detection is unreliable: it produces false positives, especially for non-native writers and short or formulaic texts. Never use it as the only evidence – compare with the student's earlier work and talk to them.
Frequently asked questions
How accurate is AI detection?
No detector is reliable enough to prove anything. Treat the score as a reason to look closer, never as proof. False positives are common for non-native English writers.
Is there a limit?

Is the AI Writing Indicator free?
Yes, completely free with no signup and no daily limit.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It works in any modern browser on iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac.
