About HS Code Lookup
Search the Harmonized System (HS 2022) – the 6-digit product codes used by customs in almost every country. Type a product such as “lithium battery”, “t-shirt” or “cosmetics”, or the first digits of a code, and see the matching subheadings with their chapter and heading, so you can check you are in the right part of the tree. Browse all 21 sections and 97 chapters, copy a code, and jump to the national tariff of Korea (UNI-PASS), the USA (HTS), the EU (TARIC) or the UK for the full 8 to 10 digit code and its duty. The list is open data from UN Comtrade and works offline once loaded. It is a guide: the final classification is the importer’s responsibility.
Frequently asked questions
What is an HS code?
A 6-digit number for a type of product, the same in about 200 countries. Countries add 2–4 more digits for their own tariff and statistics, e.g. Korea’s 10-digit HSK.
Is this the official classification?
No. It helps you find the right area of the HS. The importer is responsible for the final code – check the national tariff, the legal notes, or ask customs for a binding ruling.
Why is my product not found?
HS uses formal words: “footwear” instead of “sneakers”, “accumulators” instead of “batteries”. Try a more general word or browse the chapters.
Which HS version is this?
HS 2022, in force since 1 January 2022. The next version, HS 2028, is planned for 2028.
Is the HS Code Lookup free?
Yes, completely free with no signup and no daily limit.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It works in any modern browser on iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac.
