About Photo to HS Code
Take a photo of a product (or describe it in a few words) and get the three most likely 6-digit HS 2022 codes. AI looks at what the product is, what it is made of and what it is used for, then chooses only from the official HS 2022 list – it cannot invent a code. Each suggestion shows how confident it is and why, and a second, independent opinion from HS Code Atlas tells you whether it agrees. Open a code to see the full national codes for Korea (HSK, 10 digits), the USA (HTS), the EU (CN/TARIC), the UK and Japan from official tariff data, with links to the official tariff of other countries. This is a suggestion to start from, not a ruling: before you import, confirm the code with customs (an advance ruling) or a licensed customs broker.
Frequently asked questions
Is it free?
Yes. You can scan 5 photos and run 10 text searches a day for free, with no signup. Searching the HS list by words is unlimited.
Is the suggested HS code official?
No. It is a starting point. Only customs can give a binding decision – ask for an advance ruling or a licensed customs broker before you import.
What happens to my photo?
Your browser shrinks it to about 768 pixels, it is sent once to Google’s Gemini AI to recognise the product, and then dropped. Kitbly never stores it.
Why do national codes have more digits?
The first 6 digits (HS-6) are the same in every country. Each country adds its own digits: 10 in Korea, the USA and the UK, 8 or 10 in the EU and 9 in Japan.
Can I use my phone camera?
Yes. On a phone, tap ‘Take photo’ to open the camera, or choose a picture you already have.
How do I get a better result?
Photograph one product on a plain background, show the label or the material, and add a few words – what it is made of and what it is for.
