  3. Save – Save downloads your workbook with charts and styles kept. You can also download it as a PDF.

About Excel Editor

Open an Excel workbook or a CSV file and edit it in your browser like a spreadsheet: click a cell and type, or use the formula bar for formulas such as =SUM(B2:B9) – about 280 Excel functions recalculate live as you type. Every sheet is shown with its column widths, colours, bold text and merged cells. When you save, only the cells you changed are rewritten inside your original file, so charts, pivot tables, images, styles and other sheets stay exactly as they were. CSV files are saved back as CSV (Korean and other non-Latin text included). The file is edited on your device – it is not uploaded. Older .xls and .ods files are converted once on our server first.

Frequently asked questions

Is it free?

Yes. Free with no sign-up, no watermark and no hidden limits on pages or files beyond what your device can handle.

Is my spreadsheet uploaded?

No – .xlsx and .csv files are opened, edited and saved in your browser. Only older formats (.xls, .ods) and the optional PDF download are processed once on our server and deleted right away.

Will charts, pivots and formatting be kept?

Yes. Saving only rewrites the cells you changed, so charts, pivot tables, images, conditional formatting, styles and merged cells are kept. They are shown as cells in the editor; charts and pivots themselves can't be edited here.

Which formulas work?

Common Excel functions – SUM, AVERAGE, IF, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIF, COUNTIF, ROUND, TEXT, DATE functions and many more (about 280) – recalculate live, including references to other sheets. Newer dynamic-array functions (FILTER, UNIQUE, XLOOKUP, LAMBDA) and macros are not calculated in the editor, but Excel recalculates everything when you open the saved file.

Can I add rows, columns or sheets?

You can type into the empty rows and columns below and to the right of your data. Inserting or deleting rows, columns and sheets and changing cell formatting is not supported yet – use Excel or LibreOffice for that.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Tap a cell and type in the formula bar at the top. Use Full screen for more room.
