Frequently asked questions
What is an HWP file?
HWP and HWPX are the document formats of Hangul (Hancom Office, 한글), the word processor used by the Korean government, schools, universities and many companies. Visa forms, school notices and public tenders are often published only as .hwp, which Word, Pages and Google Docs can't open.
What resolution are the images?
150 DPI by default; choose 300 DPI for printing.
Does every HWP file convert perfectly?
Most text, tables and images come through well, including government forms with complex tables. We use the open-source H2Orestart reader, so very elaborate layouts can shift slightly. Password-protected, DRM (distribution) documents and old Hangul 97 (HWP 3.0) files can't be converted; open them in Hangul and save again as .hwpx first.
Is my document kept?
No. Files travel over an encrypted HTTPS connection, are converted automatically and are permanently deleted after 1 hour. Nobody looks at them and they are never used for AI training.
Is HWP to JPG free?
Yes – completely free, with no account, no daily limit and no watermark.
Are my files safe?
Files are sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection, processed automatically by our servers, never shared and permanently deleted after 1 hour. Nobody looks at your documents.
Do I need to install software or sign up?
No. It works in any browser on Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android. No account needed.
Is there a watermark?
Never. Your converted files are clean, with no watermark or branding.
